As a Captain for QantasLink, as well as throughout his brilliant professional career, Mr. Harrison has routinely demonstrated the vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be considered among the best.
QantasLink, which is a combination of Airlink, Eastern Australia Airlines and Sunstate Airlines, is Australia's largest regional airline. The company operates around 2,000 flights each week to 54 metropolitan and regional destinations across Australia and Papua New Guinea, employing around 1,000 people in both metropolitan and regional locations including Tamworth, Newcastle, Cairns, Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne.
On his way towards retirement, David has logged nearly 16,000 hours over the course of his incredibly impressive career. He is currently in charge of a team that transports people safely and economically from place to place. Mr. Harrison has also held an interest in amateur radio for over 45 years, having been licensed for over 30 years with a combination of boat anchors and modern radios.
During his collegiate career, David earned an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering. He is also the holder of an Air Transport Pilot License. Mr. Harrison is a member of the Australian Federation of Air Pilots and the United Grand Lodge of Queensland as a Freemason in the craft lodge, the 18th degree and Royal Arch.
